Due to an increased fire risk, a fire ban has been issued on all open burning and all permits have been cancelled effective 8:00am Friday March, 21 2025 until further notice.
FYI – This ban is across the entire state of North Carolina. Campfires are not allowed. We have removed all fire rings from our sites here at Zooland. Individuals may use propane grills and fire pits. Charcoal grills are allowed to be used but must be contained meaning the lid must be closed at all times and may not be left off. Information regarding limitations have been confirmed with our local fire department and the U.S. Forest Service.
